The NBA approves a new measure against tanking

The NBA has approved by a wide margin a profound reformation of the draft lottery system aimed at reducing the incentive to deliberately lose games. The new model, called "3-2-1," expands the lottery to 16 teams and penalizes franchises with worse records, which will no longer have the highest chances of securing the number one draft pick, in addition to introducing limits to prevent consecutive high picks and possible sanctions for teams suspected of 'tanking.' Only the Memphis Grizzlies voted against the measure.
